B Pur’e is a purifying system that contains CO2 Eating algae combined with a Fungi internal unit that completely degrades PET plastic. Our design has a spiral PVC pipe, filled with moving algae, revolving around our plastic-eating fungi. This algae will absorb and eat CO2, purifying the air. Algae can eat CO2 through photosynthesis and it has no smell. Algae has been used on the highway to take in CO2 emissions.
The second function is with fungi. It will line the inner sides of our plastic depository trash can. Tests are underway on the time it takes. The fungi that we will be using has been able to eat plastic safely. It will be powered by solar panels so there is no need for energy use. This device will be completely safe.
The concept of a Campus as a lab is spreading everywhere. Student ingenuity and innovation are trying to heal major world problems. I want B Pur’e to be a part of this revolution. B Pure can be placed in high foot traffic areas or where cars release CO2. I would like to spread B Pur’e to schools around the globe.
